My mx518 has started locking up at slower and slower speeds. Its tends to look right down when it locks up (which makes it impossible to rocket jump sometimes). Has anyone had this problem/know how to fix it? When I first got it, it would only do this if I moved it as fast as i could. Then it would happen at fast rocket jumps.. Im now experiencing it when I flick to shoot scouts… :(

I use the qck, Iv head my mouse had tracking problems with clothe mouse mats.. What mat would you recommend then?
naw , just see if it fixes the issue, use a newspaper or anything else but your mousemat
Your mouse is on its way out.
Had this with about 5 different 518s in the last 10 years. Most recent was around 2 months ago with a 2month old mouse :| – It usually crops up around the 18month/2year mark.
Ring Logitech up and explain the problem. They will be aware of it as its a known issue with the 518s. The copper wiring in the cord breaks/frays REALLY REALLY easily and begins to kick up these type of issues.
While you wait 5-7 working days for a replacement to arrive if you have a spare/old 518 you can try switching the cords round. It’s pretty simple/straight forward – all you need is a lil Philips.
It’s the cable. There were two versions of the mouse, one with the transparent bottom, 1600 dpi iirc, it’s cable had a manufacturing fault. The 1800 dpi theoretically should have been freed from that, yet I also had to replace mine to another.
Logitech might even give you a G400 ;)

actually I heard the mx518 fits best with the qck.
I use the g400 (wich has the same laser as 518) with the qck, works awesome
I bought the mouse from a place called C-TECH via amazon. They have a 30 day return policy which has expired by over a month.
Il email them but im not sure they will say anything except quote their 30 day return policy
Do you think its worth contacting Logitech or will they not do anything due to not buying the mouse directly from them?
if your mouse is still in warranty they will most likely replace it, just contact their support via their website
Yup. I bought mine from an ebay store who didn’t want to replace it after 2 years so I contacted Logitech and they sent out a new one for free. :D
Awesome, gonna do that then..
