Hi.

I’m getting huge FPS drop in TF2 even though I have a good computer and FPS-config.

I’ve tried to reset the “team fortress 2”-folder with no results.

Specs:

I’m dropping from 120-60 on 6v6. (on highlander 120-40)

This isn’t playable so it would be great with some support!

It could be Steam. I was getting huge drops last night. Try disabling Steam Friends and test it again.

try mat_queue_mode 2

chris said new phenoms get a good boost from it

I have almost the same specs i had it 2 weeks ago, that fixed it was either updating my drivers and changing mumble priority to normal rather than high, try also to change the priority on hl2.exe to high if it didnt work with that above :)

I have a very similar spec’d machine to yours (only an HD5770 as opposed to your GTX460) and I get a noticeably worse FPS when I use a config/low settings than when I turn things up. Might be worth a try at any rate :D
(Don’t shout at me hardware/config nerds)

I have same CPU as PIN and also getting huge FPS drops now. It was fine until last week, but now my FPS drops from 132 to 40.

same cpu here, no drops at all. maybe cause its running @ 3.7 mhz!?

I can confirm this, bet it only applies to a number of a setups, but my fps used to drop to to like 70-80 with chris’s maxframes (dx8) and never dropped below ~170 with dx9frames.

if anything then im getting better fps than i had few months ago, minus the 1sec freezes that everyone has
