Hi.

so whenever i want to change the anti alias quality ingame, the game rolls back to dxlevel 7.0
the cfg contains mat_aaquality “2” and mat_antialias “4” (4 being the max), yet, these settings arent accepted by the game. options show me it’s set to none.

im on a laptop with a Radeon 5740 (11.6 / 5.771.1 driver). the laptop has this ability to switch between integrated intel graphics and the ati graphics. CCC has all options set to application controlled.

anyone an idea?

This can’t possibly be true, since TF2 doesn’t even support DX7.

AnimaL

it prolly sais none bcs such cvar combination isnt a pre-configured setting

you should still see that ur aa is enabled

also, you should change aa in launch options not cfg to prevent game from crashing on alt tab

i can try making a screenshot of dxlevel 7 (although its 8 in reality i think).

the aa quality is not enabled. i can clearly see jagged edges. I’m using lawenas recording tool. i’m not sure how it handles the launch options.

i can try it via launch options. whats the command for that?

ok. so seems like that if i remove the two entries regarding AA quality from chris’s config, it works. everything is set correctly except the fov. trying to change anything in the menu does what i described above. if i type the cvar into console (fov_desired) it does no quirks.

anyone knows why this is and what the launch option for antialias is?

AnimaL

ur config.cfg is read only

its mat_antialias 4

checked it. its not read only. unless something with lawenas tool sets it.

thanks for the launch parameter. will try that too
