Can't connect Itouch 4g to Itunes

So I just bought a 64gig Itouch 4g and I cant connect it to Itunes.

Itunes doesnt even see that I am connecting the Itouch to it and when I restarted it while holding the home button, it gave me the error “An iPod has been detected, but it could not be identified properly”.

Any help is welcome.
