My friend suggested using driver sweeper. I did this then reinstalled the drivers i got from the install disk in safe mode and all seems fine. It recognises it and runs games fine now :)
Thanks for everyone’s help
Did you try to install version 11.6 of CCC and are you using a HDMI link to your monitor?
Tried another Graphics card ? Tried graphics card on another mobo ?
Sorry didnt read full thread and missed the part that you fixed your problem :)

I got the mobo same time as i got the graphics card and i wouldn’t be surprised at me getting 2 faulty parts at the same time :P
Did you reinstall your OS when you replaced the motherboard?

In case that was directed at me, I was asking because some of the things he mentioned (namely, that his OS was having problems detecting the card) combined with the fact he said he replaced his MB made me think he might not have reinstalled Windows – 95% of the time you won’t even be able to boot Windows if you do this, but if it’s a ‘similar’ chipset on the old board to the new one (i.e. Intel Q35 to Intel Q65) then Windows will boot, but you’ll have all sorts of device problems because you’re running the wrong chipset drivers.
If that’s the case, then he might have fixed his current problem, but still not be in an optimal state.
