Basically I can’t afford to buy myself a new pc and am looking for a performance boost by overclocking. However I can’t access the multipliers in the bios as they are locked and was wondering if any of you computer literate people could recommen / tell me anther way of oc’ing my cpu?

If so it would be much appreciated.

ATI Radeon HD 5670
4.0GB Dual-Channel DDR2 @ 401MHz 5-5-5-18

Your ram timming set manualy? if not u will need to set the voltage and timing manualy for that. The timing u have looks good, but u may have to set it looser for overclocking.

As its AMD u will prob only get 10% so prob looking at 2750Mhz, However from what i have read ur is a diamond in the rough. It should be able to get 3.0Ghz maybe 3.2Ghz.

Altho this was the black edition, if ur multiplyer is lock urs is not the black edition.

Download CPUz and upload a print screen will see what u got atm and take it form there.

those benchmarks test WHO IS BETTER AT RUNNING THE BENCHMARK. its the same as when people say to use glxgears as some sort of benchmark, it tests HOW WELL GLXGEARS RUNS, not anything else. so let’s not suddenly jump to conclusions that it somehow is indicative of a better cpu.

and xeon is such a common home processor, oh yes…

i have my phenom ii 945 x4 running at 4.3GHz. people who think amd’s are difficult to overclock are, in reality, just shit at overclocking and think it’s all about fsb and cpu clock multi.

Well im shocked u got that, what Cooler? or Liquid? and how many hours did it pass prime95?

Most people dont want to fuck with ver volts, under volts, timmings. They just FSB and Multiply.

Whatever Chris, clock for clock intel smokes amd. Good fun to have it running at the same ghz, too bad it still doesn’t perform as well. Besides 4.3ghz isn’t really that high.

I got 50% more out my Q6600, by doing over/under volts and tweaking timmings and shizzle got 30% out of my shitty b3 stepping ones aswell.

(can get a 66% clock out my G0 stepping but not 100% stable, even on liquid. 4GHz)

I said 10% is what most people get, most people fuck up coz the overclock the ram to much.
