I usually get Steam Validation Rejected on 1 or 2 of the first maps i join when starting TF2. I’ve tried to delete the .blob files, but it ain’t working. And I get SVR after Disconnection Lost thingy from a server. Help out:)
Cheers
I used to get the same message, was really annoying. I don’t really remember how I solved it, but try to delete multiplay ob binaries.gcf and/or change your beta participation at steam.
I fix this a while ago it IS a router issue.
This fixed my O2 wireless box 2
You’ll need to connect to your router by telnet. Click on “Start”, then select “Run”, type “cmd” and press Enter or click “Ok”. This will bring up a command prompt. Win7 users can use putty or kitty
Type “telnet ”login with
ID: SuperUser
Password: O2Br0ad64ndOnce you have logged in, you will be presented with the command line of your router.
This is where you must enter the following commands:connection unbind application=GAME(UDP) port=27010-27011
saveall
exit

When i type “telnet” , it says “Telnet” is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.

welcome to bt homehub!
restart insta-fixes the issue.
you only get it on pub servers. Effectively what happens is the home hub drops the connection as you join after about 20 seconds usually. i had this for years and years now. its no big deal. there isn’t a real fix, i dont think home hub allows use of telnet.
only fix i know works for sure is to use another router :D nut i dont have one :(

I fixed it using BT Home Hub. Type 192.168.1.254 into URL bar, Settings -> Admin.
Should be a list called “Game or application” Choose Steam Games and the appropriate device.
FIXED! :D
edit: oh wow lol. clueless dad has been fiddling with the hub again! “the internet isnt working! why are there all these adverts in my browser!” (little sister clicks every advert on internet + uses limewire…….” ) so deleted all my custom settings by the looks of it :s
yeah that will make it work dad :s
ye so I reset it. should work again now:
> Advanced Settings
> Application Sharing
> Steam Games + My-PC
> ADD
> Save Changes

Yeah I posted before I saw it. And yes BT HomeHub and BT in general are terrible :(
Doesn’t seem to happen if you join a server from something else then the ingame searcher.
