Hi,
So I need a motherboard would be compatible with my prehistoric PC and this new cpu I got. It needs to support the following hardware: Intel core 2 quad Q8400 cpu, DDR2 memory and a Nvidia Geforce 8400 GS. All help is appreciated, and sorry for my lack of knowledge regarding hardware. Thanks in advance!
Just buy a socket 775 motherboard
Why wouldn’t it be? Just go to a local computer store and tell them that you need a socket 775 motherboard. That supports your cpu, ddr2 and that gpu. Simple as that.
only new s775 mobos will support such a quad core (45nm 1333fsb) so he has a point, its NOT as simple as that.. but cant see any dealers selling you 3 year old mobos anyway
you can check manufacturer site for cpu support, easy
