What happened to the auto-director?

What happened to it?
Usually you could press alt (or ctrl, cannot remember) and you wouldn’t miss a kill/uber/cap while spectating over stv.
It is gone for quite a while now, although I believe that in very few stvs I can still get it,… might be just me hallucinating though :x.
Is it something you can enable/disable? Or is it something you get from the stv? Did I miss an update that removed it?
not sure but i think ppl turn it off on the server configs?
Why would you do that? :<
The auto director is still here. Set spec_autodirector to 1.
