Okay, so Mumble 1.2.3 never bothered me until recently, something odd began to happen.

Everytime I have mumble on, the sound in every other program goes completely quiet. Not a single tone. StarCraft 2, Counter-Strike Source, Team Fortress 2, even Media Player, Winamp, Youtube videos all go quiet. Strange thing is, I can hear people on mumble, but i can’t hear anything else.

Here’s a checklist of what I tried doing, as in basic troubleshooting:

-updated sound card drivers
-check speakers plugged in (inb4 trolls)
-run a thorough system check

All turn up nothing. Any hints?

Win7? If yes, go to Control Panel -> Sound -> Communications tab and select “do nothing”.
The default was “reduce to 50%” for me, so it’s possible that this won’t help you, worth a try tho

Bonkers

mumble automatcally shuts down the other sounds when someones taling, either that or windows turns them down. i went to playback devices and clicked the do nothing on the communications tab, fixed it for me

Windows Vista 32-bit. I know about mumble’s noise cancellation, but this isnt it. Instead of dimming out other sounds, these sounds just wont play at all. Nothing at all.

Done everything I could but this is way out of my hands :(

EDIT: Just found a new ‘symptom’. It says my Line In is not plugged in when mumble is running, but it says its connected when I exit mumble :O wtf is going on
