Is there a reason people don’t use quakenet.org?

Alright I tried a million times to get it working and it won’t work. I don’t see why it’s so fucking hard to use.
How come its necessary to download mIRC when there’s webchat.quakenet.org or something like that, I use it all the time to get into IRC if I need to…and that one’s a lot simpler to use. can’t go wrong in entering nickname+channels then proceed to /q or /join anything…

That works if you only use IRC once in a while to find a game or so but not very practical if you need to idle a few channels

For finding pcw’s I always use http://www.bashme.eu.
On a semi-related note, wasn’t there some sort of restriction (skill/divisionwise) on these pickups?

You need to have at least a basic knowledge of how 6v6 works and be able to use a microphone. Generally we invite div5 and up; div6 get temp invites.
