Hi, i have resoution problem after windows reinstall. I have 24′ screen – 1680×1050 but i played (before reinstall) on 1024×768 because of big FPS problem , everything was fine.
After i installed Windows 7 if i change resolution from 1680×1050 to any other resolution for example – 1024×768 i have 2 big , black bar at 2 sides of screen( sry for my broken english , i’m polish). what should i do if i want have 1024×768 on full screen without this bar just like before reinstall
1680 x 1050 is a 16:10 aspect ratio.
1024 x 768 is a 4:3 aspect ratio.
As you were on 1680 x 1050 before, I would assume that is the native resolution.
Try using 1280 x 800 and see if you still have the issue.
I have this problem too. I used to play in 1024×768 fullscreen without any problems, reinstalled steam and now every game i play in a non-native resolution has bars.
for nvidia: open nvidia control panel, go to screen settings and find flat panel settings, then change scaling setting

launch it
select scale to full size
quit
go play
nah i’m retard or it dont work, i use it and still i have bars
i was writing about command -refresh 75 but it dont working too

maybe try finding scaling options in ati control panel
wtf is ati control panel? i dont have it ;]
i dont think so it something wrong with graphic card

Have you actually installed your graphics card?
drivers can be found here http://www.amd.com/uk/Pages/AMDHomePage.aspx
to locate your control centre right click on your desktop and select catalyst control center
