Hi,
Recently, TF2 crashes after I connect any server. sometimes after 30 minutes of playing and sometimes just when I connect. (http://img263.imageshack.us/img263/2355/87285860.png)
I have WIN-XP and 4GB memory. Got strong computer.
I have tried to fix this by Steam’s guide but with no success – https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=5034-EIPV-6426, did’nt find any words like – “/3GB and /Userva=####” in the file.

set custom
initial and maximum to same ammount (usually 4092) if u have at least 2GB ram

3072 if u have 1GB

Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
2.Click Performance and Maintenance, and then click System.

I dont have/cant find “Performance and Maintenance” in the control panel :O

I have 4GB ram and I set the intial and maximum to 4092MB. ill restart and check if its working.

There is a major difference between virtual memory and paged pool memory, increasing one will not necessarily increase the other. In certain situations you may need to manually set the amount of paged pool memory to be allocated.

To do so, download http://fakkelbrigade.eu/chris/misc/pagedpool.reg , run it, and restart.

I have allready changed it. it is on “18000000” and the problem was still exist.
It seems that the problem is solved by increasing the memory as the guide tesco and animal told me to use.

chris this is a long known error msg thats caused by not having enough virtual memory in xp

not saying they the same, just that this isnt related to paged pool memory

i had this problem many moons ago, virtual memory already at the max. this fixed it for me. don’t be so quick to say it won’t.

I noticed I got the same message when I had firefox open while playing, especially when youtube was open in one of the tabs, closing the browser fixed it for me.
