Servers connection issue

Recently (about a week) I’ve got a strange problem: I cannot connect to every other TF2 server.
It just says “Connection failed after 4 retries”
I can ping it, telnet it, view it’s players list and stuff. But connection fails.
Sometimes I cannot connect to a server but can watch its stv (same ip, diff port).
The list of the servers I cannot connect to is consistent. It doesn’t change from day to day.
Restarting tf2/computer/router didn’t help.
Anyone has any ideas? I’m stuck :(
(again, just in case it is not clear from above – I can connect to some servers, but for some I’ve got the problem described; doesn’t seem to depend on location, kinda randomish…)

Reset your router.
If that helps, replace it (because it’s going to come back) (unless you do already have your own router (as opposed to one you got from your ISP) – in that case ignore this post).
I like brackets.
(ps im drunk, might be talking crap)

i agree, replace ur router with pineapple
Try adding “-port 27099” (without the quotes) to the launch options. If there’s someone else playing TF2 connected to the same router as you, you can’t both join the same server unless you use different ports. (27015 is the default port used by TF2 if no launch option is set).

not true, even with no upnp you can play, tf2 should set ur port to w/e is av
27015 is server port, not client
in this case it seems u have set firewall to disable connection from 27015

It happened to me and a friend, we could not get into the same server unless I forced another port, we were using a Linksys wrt54gc router. It was a long time ago (like early 2009), dunno if TF automatically “corrects” this situations nowadays.
Since the issue is “random” I related to that thing that happened to me cause it felt very random to me too until I came across the solution. Something like this http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/437678-team-fortress-2/41586858
