Hello i got a problem with my headset. I just bought a new headset and when i plug it in the microphone does not work. I tested 3 other old microphones on my pc but none worked. What may be causing that? and How to fix it?

Ty, in advance ;)

Plugged into the right jack? You sure it isn’t just muted? Can you not hear yourself, or have you tested on mumble where others cannot hear you either?

Certainly in the right plug. I tested in tf2 (test microphone voice) and its not quiet it just sounds like when you blow into your mic, and not just when i speak but all the time.
It`s driver less so how do i know if it`s muted?

make sure you’ve muted stereo mix/line volume? those interfere with the microphone feed.

how do I do that? (:

you can check or edit them in your windows volume control panel (if you’re running XP, not sure about vista or 7) and/or in your soundcard’s own mixer if it happens to have one.

to turn stereo mix and line volume (or equivalent) off you have to mute them from the panels. this should prevent them from interfering with the mic feed. you can access win vol control from the bottom right corner near the clock or start -> all programs -> accessories -> entertainment -> volume control
