So i’ve got this 1680 x 1050 monitor, that supports up to 75 Hz of refresh rate. I’m also usig a ati radeon hd 5830 and have the latest catalyst drivers/control center installed and i’m using WIN7 if that helps.
For some strange reason i can’t change my refresh rate from 60 Hz to 75 Hz past resolution of 1280 x 1024 in the catalyst control center options.
Any way to get 75 Hz on 1680 x 1050?
15 Hz might seem like a small diffirence. But when you actully change it feels completly different.
There are a lot of monitors that only support higher refresh rates on smaller resolutions. Yours may be one.
Will have to see the specs of this old monitor. I haven’t bought it my self so i have no idea what it supports or not.
w7 and both amd/nvidia drivers = shit
often they have disabled half of resolution/Hz possibilities
use rivatuner (nvidia) or powerstrip (ati and nvidia) to add the custom resolution, but make sure u uninstall them apps as they are outdated and only work for u just to add custom res :P

At 1680×1050, 15hz means that ~26.5 million pixels get updated every second.

I’ll try this
Powerstrip’s a nice app but sadly my montor like Chris said does only support 60Hz at higher res, any cheap 120 Hz monitor at around the same res i have to get for christmas?

As Chris said, your monitor probably doesn’t support high refresh rate for high resolutions, gotta deal with it in some other way.
