I never really liked gravelpit that much, but I’ve recently seen the good side of it, the intense matches when you’re trying to attack/defend C is really really good, and nothing feels better than fully attacking and succeeding or completely stopping a defence on it.

It’s the ultimate map for tactics and teamwork.

C is great, but i find gpit mind numbingly boring to defend(the first 2 points).

Also funny that everyone says that its the ultimate test of teamwork and tactics, it’s probably my team’s best map and we have awful teamwork on the most popular 5cp maps.

Actually BuffaloBill was wrong earlier, gravelpit is always played as a best of 3 map. This means there is no golden cap on it, if you win 2 rounds and your opponent wins 1, you still get all three points and they get zero points. We are updating the rules to clarfiy, I have to admit I had to go back to the original announcement to check as I always thought it was a golden cap win when scored 2-1 as well.

I’ve been through all of the gravelpit golden cap wins and changed them back to normal. I guess I missed that one though because it was listed as 1-1 and I was searching pages for 2-1 :)

Gravelpit is really awful,

When defending you don’t have to worry about having to take over another cp, leading to less dynamic games.

Same goes for attacking obviously, there’s nothing for you to defend.

A and B are open at the start, we all know this is just a big timewaster apart from casual medic pick on teams that decide not to keep the medic in spawn.

Setup time, just because everybody hates a setup time.

Not saying gravelpit is the worst, but 5 cp games are a lot more interesting.

I like Gravelpit just because it’s so different for 5cp maps. Only problem is like in any other game that everyone tends to be mimic and just copy their tactics from premiere teams ect. Last night I was merc for Strike a Pose and we played gravelpit against Fakkelbricade’s second team and their quite original tactics threw us off our game quite a bit. I just think people should start to think new ways to conquer this map like they did. FB guys lost, but still I loved the game just because of they actually tried something new and executed it quite well…

Not to derail the topic, but I love gpit, I get bored shitless with BL and gran, and the different dynamic for a either purely attacking or purely defending map is nice. Also allows people to ‘off-class’ and I have seen some of the more amzaming plays in games because of this; for example I saw a team run double spy and between them get about 4 people, can’t remember teams.
