Frame Blending

Sorry to disappoint, but frame blending is not really my area of expertise. I did some tests with frame blending and forced motion blur, but found it wasn’t worth it for me. The task of recording and dealing with so high FPS footage severely slows the editing process which, in turn, makes you less prone to be playful and creative with the footage.
As for the quality of the footage itself, I found that using a bit of lens blur (combined by a tad of noise) helped give a lot of that smoothness you’re looking for. It also allows for more intuitive control. I found that combining both camera blur and frame blend made things too smudgy, so if you want both, make sure to be prudent with the amounts.
Don’t forget, the majority of your audience will watch the video with rough compression. The built in lens blur is slow, but this http://www.frischluft.com/lenscare/index.php plugin does the job within a fraction of the render time.
Most of the footage in 7 brothers who aren’t brothers is recorded in 60fps. I didn’t compare it much to 30fps, so I don’t know how much the quality gain was (if any).
It’s up to you really: Spend your time learning cool and creative ways of video making in After Effects VS spending all that time making the video quality look a tad better. For me, the choice is simple and I haven’t so far seen anyone complaining on the lack of blending in my videos.
