hey i just got my steelseries siberia v2 headphones, plugged them in correctly i think, i ca hear everything fine but my microphone doesn’t work, using windows 7 and in the sound options in playback it says microphones not plugged in help!?

yeah 1 green and 1 pink, i got 2 pink plugholes and first one didn’;t seem to work

If it’s jack based Windows can’t tell if you’ve got it plugged in or not (it ignores the relevant ACPI event unless ACPI triggers a switch in output port), so you’re probably looking at the wrong device.

Install the latest drivers for your sound card they usually come with extra compatability/software that can help detect your Mic. I use Sibera’s on w7. Try going into mumble and use the setup function to test if you can hear yourself, do this each time with a different “input” from the drop down menu to see which works, if no luck try the other pink port and then the mumble test again.

Select your sound card as the default communication device.

Do they have one of those buttons on the chord that turn the microphone on/off?

You know there’s a mute switch in the wire, right?

ok just “successfully” installed new drivers, now in devices it says my microphone and headphones are not plugged in but are working properly, help
