new plug and play headset not working

just got this headset in the post http://www.play.com/PC/PCs/4-/1107572/Logitech-PC-Headset-120/Product.html i am using windows vista 32 bit and it is not recognising it at all!, it has 2 jacks one mic the other sound, i have 2 sets of jacks on at the front one at the back. (tried both still nothing, went into the windows configuration for setting up the mic and get htis error http://img838.imageshack.us/img838/7898/dddduk.jpg
any help is very appriciated as my older mic is in the bin, im pieces.
I’m going to be simple and say trying updating sound drivers to see if that solves the problem, if not… Wait until someone with a bit more knowledge than me turns up :D
