Since I used the new PLDX tool every time I launch TF2 it gives me all the particle effects and fancy explosions and an FPS that varies from 120 to 20.

Anyone know how to stop this happening? Changing video options does nothing.

mrp.

delete the particles?

I renamed the particles folder, and then deleted it completely and no dice, still high graphics and massive fps drop :(

Any more ideas?

Silly silly Monkeh.

2 things you can do:

1) Go to the backup folder in your PLDX directory and copy back the backed up files to your tf directory.

2) If the above doesn’t work, delete your materials, cfg and maybe your resource folder too (I don’t have PLDX currently and I can’t remember which folders are replaced) or even your entire tf directory and re launch tf2 which will then recreate all the folders.

Kill/Death numbers? Referring to your damage counters and stuff? That’s just tf2 update borking your HuD. Wait until the HuD makers release an update that works for the game.

Hope it helps :D

I assume m0re’s hud’s scoreboard. It’s update’s issue, I guess we will need to look for a new one.

Chances are that this ‘backup’ is actually equal to your current setup, if you’ve continued to try after the issue first arose (it will have backed up your already messed-up setup etc.).

Always keep a backup of your config outside any steam/tf2/pldx folders, and/or set files to be read-only.

Also, pldx does nothing for you that you can’t do without pldx!
(yes, that includes messing with your config, lol)
