hm, that result can’t be correct (it suggests it even gets no response from your router, but manages to get no loss to an external source… doesn’t make any sense. perhaps it doesn’t work on vista either.
try doing the tracert thing i suggested.

Everytime i enter the command with the “etf2ltracert.txt” it says “Access denied” and i cant run it as admin either (i blame vista) so i just made a pic of it: http://img404.imageshack.us/img404/4601/tracertph.jpg
That, strangely, looks fine.
Something strange is going on here. It might be a dodgy microfilter, which would explain why it is only temperamental some of the time.
If you have another microfilter, try switching the one you’re currently using, it might have broke.
Well i dont have another microfilter… I remember that my pc randomly shut down and didnt start up for at least 5 minutes after a few hours of COD a while ago. I havent noticed any problems with the pc after that so i thought it was just the overheating protection, but looks like the microfilter broke at that point…
Edit: Ok so i tried a couple of things that were supposed to help me finding the problem (such as restarting my router and cleaning the fan). Just played a lobby and got between 0-8 choke most of the time, 30 at the start of the round.
Im still wondering if it’s a hardware or a software problem. Looks more like a hardware problem to me, but i dont have any problems in MW2 and i get 0 choke in CS:S most of the time.

Just on a side note, I have similar problem, i.e. despite having low and consistent ping (60-65) and maximum choke of 8-10, it still looks like I was playing using a modem. That appears mostly on UK servers (I’m playing from Poland), but that’s not a rule. I’m running a 6MBit broadband through Netgear router. May it be an issue of wrong routing on my ISP’s side?
