Meh, it’s better for you than cigarettes and can be used inside/gaming. I actually use them to get me through boring lectures…

I would imagine that your spit (containing the enzyme Amylase produced in the salivary glands) is the main cause like you and others have said, this is because in this “snus” (or whatever the name given to this vile and unhealthy subsatance nowadays) contains sugar, I would imagine, too give it a sweeter taste, I’m not sure (haven’t been doing any revision over Chrtistmas) which way round this goes, but the sugar would be turned into starch (?) by the enzyme, and if I’m right starch is smaller than sugar and can pass through partially permeable membranes, so a fungi off some sort goes use this to grow, and Fungi nearly always take a mould-like structure, that’s my theory.

It’s not snuff. Snuff was something you snorted into your nose and was common in the UK and USA. Snus is translated as “wet tobacco”.
