Big names have shifted/will shift because they appreciate the console sales pattern more, especially because of this generations stupidly high development costs and high risk of low revenue. Console sales are big at first and die down pretty soon after, so they break even or get a payout pretty much instantly, with a trickle following.
PC sales are moderate in numbers one day one (save WoW) and stay moderate for a lot longer.

Most developers favour the quick cash, so to stay in business due to high development costs and especially the recession. Things may get better in the future but who knows?
I don’t really mind though, more eastern european developers are supporting to PC in a sort of “resurgance” and if I get more games like Cryostasis and Stalker out of it, I’m more than happy.

On topic, I wouldn’t be surprised if Infinity Ward was more than “lubricated” by activision..Activision have been doing some really bad things recently, like the CEO admitting he wants to charge $150+ for a game. :/

PC gaming isn’t dying or anywhere near it, IW has just always wanted to be a console focused company. If you read an interview someone did with IW a while ago they wanted to make CoD1 & CoD2 for consoles but Activision wouldn’t let them. The table has turned…

It was gonna be a bad game anyway, I hope it will fail hard now. :P
