No, I spent about 2 years quite active on a tech forum where there was about 30 threads like this every day so I tend to get to know peoples attitude, and anyway, you still haven’t answered my question.
Also, how could my ego have taken a hit if you didn’t contradict me? :)
£400 maybe £450, Mostly gaming and media, I am building myself, I might overclock in the future and i wouldn’t mind buying from different retailers.

Cant say you really tend to know peoples attitude if thought my post was attitude-driven.
Well, your sudden hostile response to someone trying to help came a bit out of the blue.
Your question is irrelevant. I cant claim that the rig thats been posted here is not the best option, hence the questions to wOllie

Do you have any British hardware sites that indicates the hw-prices in UK? I get the feeling they are somewhat lower than in Norway.
The sites i use are http://www.overclockers.co.uk , http://www.ebuyer.com and http://www.scan.co.uk
Tbh, I wouldn’t buy an S775 rig anymore.
Either go i5/i7 (which is prolly to expensive) or AM2+/AM3.
S775 is 100% dead, the others offer better or the same performance and can still be upgraded in the future.
Ignoring the rage above.
Either save your money and wait to get an I5 to future proof, or get an AM3 rig, which is ofc a bit cheaper.
Either way, not worth upgrading to that, with the current tech situation, sure it’s cheap, but you want future proofing so you dont feel a need to go upgrading in the future, so save up, and get something amazing!
Ive never thought about the AMD processors tbh i might look at some reviews but i heard the AMD Phenom II X4 is good and cheap

I suggest videocard GeForce GTX 275 (gainward)
you need POWAR
I also suggest you ignore Ambra’s post.
ATI is the way to go atm, unless you need the very best GPU (the GTX295 atm) but that’ll prolly change when an X2 version of the new 58×0 series is launched.
good setup atm, but wait until christmas..
I have looked around and seen the AMD Phenom II X3 720 which is very cheap and good on performance and it beats the E8400 in the reviews I have seen and the E8400 is a Dual and the 720 is a Tri-core and cheaper
X3 720 is awesome, used it in a build for a friend recently, gives amazing performance.
As for graphics, just get whatever you can afford, there’s no point going “zomg this one is best atm” – compare performance and get the best in your price range… personally I use a GTS 250 :P
ive been thinking about this build:
AMD Phenom II X3 720 BE
Asus M4A785D-M PRO Motherboard
Corsair 4GB (2×2GB) DDR2 800MHz/PC2-6400 XMS2 Memory Kit
ATI HD Radeon 4850 512mb
Western Digital 500GB Caviar Black
Antec 300 Mid tower case
LG GH22NS50 22x DVD/RW
and its like £30 cheaper and it beats the E8400 and by January the prices will be down! yay
