I try and render it to uncompressed avi but when I try and play it it doesn’t have any sound or picture. I’ve tried it 3 times, but the clip works with other types of rendering. Can someone help? :S

You won’t be able to view that without compressing it to something like h264 first, there’s simply too much data otherwise (about 250mb a second if you’re doing 120fps @ 720p). That’s normal.
I made this little movie using PLDX tool and Vegas: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mf7kb61EXgY and was wondering if I’ve worked something out.
Notice how it’s all nice and clear when the camera isn’t moving, but a little bit blurry when it does move. Could this be because I recorded at 60FPS, but I think Vegas renders it at about 30 doesn’t it? So we get 2 frames of footage crammed into 1 frame of render? Camera moving means 2 different images in 1 frame which means a blur? I think that sounds vaguely possible, so to eliminate this I record at the same FPS as the render and volia, perfection?
Yes I am total n00b, I know.
Please ignore the dodgy brightness/contrast settings as I’m still messing around with that.
yep, thats how most vids are made.
the alienware bigfoot movie was recorded at 1000fps and rendered at 50. if you pause it you can see how smooth the blur is.
Thanx, I shall try recording at 30 FPS tonight and rendering at the same and see if that helps. Expect an update later… I know, I bet you can hardly contain your excitement!!
So I raised the sample rate from 3 million to 8 million and I rendered at 60 FPS, even though that wasn’t an option I just typed it into the box, then I messed around with the colours a bit and ended up with this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-0pmsmdbEpc It seems to be a much better quality than the original, no motion blur or ghosting, so yeah, render at the same FPS as you record and the world’s your oyster.
