I’m gonna buy a ticket before the early-bird thing ends tomorrow night.
Just got a few queries…
What was the setup last year?
Did most TF2 players go with TUP or BYOC?
I understand TUP players can’t sit with BYOC players.I could bring my gayming laptop pretty easy on the old aeromaplane so either is an option for me but TUP would be smoother and easier.
And are £72 & £140 the discounted prices or what?
cu@lan
Pretty much everyone is BYOC, much more fun and you can play your own games when u get bored and piss around sitting with your friends too ;).
Laptops are always a good idea, if not just put your tower in a big suit case and put clothes either side of it for easy carrying. Put fragile on it if your flying and the baggage handlers(chuckers) will be carefull with it. You can rent monitors there or just ask if anyone can bring them down a spare monitor(i have a spare)
If all you’ve ever been to is competative tournaments this is kinda like that but you can use your pc as much as you want, just shout down your row if anyone wants to play a l4d 4v4 or other random games like warsow until the early hours.
All whilst walking 10meters to the bar and back. Oh Yeah.
it may be worth noting if it hasnt been mentioned already that the location for i38 is different to that of the previous 4(?) events. I havent been to Newbury myself but i’ve heared of a number of differences between it and Stoneleigh. Most noteable is the setup of the LAN event, being spread across a number of rooms gives communities (like ours) an opportunity to all pile into one location, would this be a good or bad idea? i dont know :p
Eitherway like others have mentioned previously, regardless of your team or not, every effort should be made to attend to give TF2 a good name and hopefully some quality air time, which will only help our cause.
Ok going to buy a BYOC ticket, where’s the nearest airport? :D

Southampton.. i think
It’s worth noting that there is a train station practically onsite as well, so no expensive taxis/begging for lifts to anyone heading there by train/plane.
If we were to get 64 teams, you could almost garauntee the next event would have more prize money. That’s your incentive.
There’s a strong chance Monster Munch will make some sort of appearence.
just some advice TUP is quite bad, you can’t sit where you want and the pc’s are quite bad.
mhh

No seating planner for this one, MPUK doing it themselves – so hopefully with Squad FPS we can get all of TF2 together?
Ticket purchased :D
