NTL/Virgin cable is hard to beat for gaming in my experience.
But I understand it I can be hit or miss in some areas of UK, but I guess that goes for any service.

50mb from Virgin Media is perfect for student houses.

Sky Broadband has easily been the best internet I’ve had, cheap as hell too.

So reliable, powerful conn, wireless options, multiple slots for PCs, brilliant.
