What does 0 input lag mean? I don’t understand why this is different to any other monitor except 120hz – which doesn’t make too much of a difference :$
120hz makes a HUGE difference mate, have you seen 120hz running on a crt? :)
input lag is the milliseconds delay in you moving your mouse and it doing it on the screen, most good monitors have 2-10ms input lag :) this has 0 just like a crt

The problem with a 120hz screen is that your PC needs to be capable of 120fps to make use of it. :P
I.e. most monitors are only capable of 50 or 60fps (60 being the norm). 120hz = 120fps.
If your PC can do it, sooo worth the money. Although personally im unlikely to buy one as I just got 2x LG 24″ at christmas.
On a side note, NVC, have you seen 180hz on a CRT? <3 professional grade CRT monitors.

thats response time? and it says 3/5ms response time on that spec sheet like any other good lcd monitor :$
There is always going to be some delay in LCD’s as the charging/twisting of the liquid crystals will take longer than firing of electrons onto phosphors in CRT’s. But 3/5ms is more than fast enough to prevent motion blur which used to be the biggest issue.
And as SKY said, pointless if your PC’s not kicking out around 120fps So for most people it will make absolutely no difference than if they bought a cheap 60hz 5ms tft. And when most humans can perceive a seemless image at ~50Hz it just seems a tad expensive, unless your trying to elminate film judder ofc :)))
Prices are likely to drop soon, and if you can’t run a certain game at 120 Hz, just lock the FPS at 60 and it will look smooth anyway. And if you can run the game 120 at FPS, :D

My current CRT will do 200hz and tbh, doesn’t look much difference past 120hz

Aye ye, So epic. :3
I can’t tell anything past about 140MHz. But tbh, 120fps+ is pointless anywho.
Hope you bought Steelseries SX :) Pure gaming bliss for aim.

the response time is the time it needs to display the picture. pure theory. since most of the lcds have built in picture improvements so your mice and keyboard inputs will still be behind the real. not only by 2ms more like by 30ms. that is the ‘input lag’ nvc pointed out. I can actually approve of this. had the T220 and it was horrible compared to a CRT.
I have a t220 HD and I’m perfectly fine.
will probably wait at least a couple of years before changing this
it’s not fine. not at all if you have eyes that are used to proper 100fps with no reaction time. it’s more like a mess.
it must be that im using samsung monitors from over a year to eventually get used to this lag… im doing some researches tho: apparently the t220hd is not THAT bad but still slightly laggy (31 ms)
I’ll defenetly upgrade when new generation of monitors will be a bit less expensive
Still waiting for IPS 120hz panels. Couldn’t care less about this screen, it would force me to buy another monitor for normal usage. But gamers are cheapskates so I doubt any company is going to develop a screen like that anytime soon.
what will the prices of the samsung and the viewsonic 120hz lcds be at xmas? a lot cheaper?
