New picture, as you can see they’re useless

If anyone could confirm that using my mouse like this on the new mat WONT ruin it i’ll try everything mavve has said (again).
AFAIK there are no skates for the lachesis :(
as you may have seen: http://etf2l.org/forum/league/topic-4228/page-28/?recent=79448#post-78883
I already knew that one
NOW BACK TO TOPIC ! this guy needs help, he may get it.
what did you do to your mouse? useing it a skateboard or roller skates? Never seen a mouse which had lost it’s skates, even my old mx1000 still has them, well lets say a bit.
You could try, if you don£t push to hard, but as I said earlier on, even with skates my exactmat got some scrates :<
The skates don’t look too bad. They’re just a little overused and have become white. I don’t think they will ruin your new mouse pad.
Problem is that they’re under the hard black plastic, they became this way by using a free mousemat for like two months when i first got the mouse >>
Also: exactmat is already fucked, its just the destructor is brand new (arrived today) and supposed to last long, I’d like it to do just that :)
I had to remove the skates on my G5 to open it up, afterwards I left them off just sanded down the skate surrounds to stop scratches on my mousemat. Just remember to protect the sensor, you don’t want sand & ground down plastic getting in there.

Skates are from teflon to lower friction. Removing them would fuck up mouse control imo.

Nah its fine for me, as smooth as it was before. But I use the rough green razer mousemat so I wouldn’t need the mouse to be super smooth anyway.
Nobody has really answered though :p
Would just like someone to be able to tell me if gliding over the mousemat with normal plastic will ‘smoothen’ the surface out so my mouse can’t track properly on it afterwards.
This is basically the decider between buying a new mouse or sending this one in hoping for it to get repaired.
Buy a new one, the amount of dust present on your picture alone suggests the environment it’s in are a pigsty, using any LD (laser diode) equipment with corresponding sensor would be quite the obvious answer as to why it is failing.
Removing the feet is also a bad idea. Again, LDs are more precise due to increased focus than LEDs. There are firmware upgrades that uses a bunch of algorithms to adjust the height of which you can lift your peripheral without it registering on the surface, the reason for this alone is since the point of focus and reflection _actually does matter_.
Also, the more sensitive “gaming” devices are made by a pretty shady bunch of people, I personally like Razer, but I am not diluted and realise that having a DA break down every 12 months (I bought two before switching to Mamba) was nothing to ponder too much upon. They have some pretty neat components, but presuming they’d do any prolonged tests as to hold for extensive daily use for 12+ months is nothing I’d take for granted.
As a closing comment, with the mouse itself looking as rugged as it did on the picture, I’d be surprised if they’d even grant you warranty — but who knows, might get lucky.
In conclusion: Buy a new one.
Ahem, Mao, this isn’t about which mouse is the best ^^
I’d just like to know if worn out skates would ruin my mat :)
They will probably reduce the life of your mat if you use worn out skates most of the time. But, worn out skates are not a reason to buy a new mouse, I replace mine regularly.
All right, I’ve devised a new plan of action.
Will be ordering a new mouse, and send this one in.
Now the question is: Diamondback or Deathadder (Don’t give me your logitech mice as I’m sure they’re great but sadly not made for my hands ;) )
Thanks everyone for the help anyway!

Don’t get a DA, because it’s not symmetrical. If like smaller mice, like the DB, get the DB.
if you are used to lachesis, go for the deathadder…it’s the same shape….
