Hi all noobs and pros !

My precious Steelseries Ikari optical has finally stopped working after some heavy TF2 use during the last year.
So I have to get me a new mouse now.

I simply want the most comfortable and technically advanced mouse that is available on the market. Price is no problem.
Of course it should be a mouse especially good for first person shooters like TF2.

I really liked the shape of the Ikari optical, so the shape should be not far from that.
I have thought a bit about the Ikari laser. Seems to be a great mouse, but the Ikari mice seems to have a lot of quality problems (many people have got defect mice or mice that have stopped working after a while like my mouse).

One new mouse that I have been thinking about buying is the Gigabyte GM-M8000.
It seems to have a nice shape and is technically advanced.
However, it is very new and I have so far not heard of anyone else with any experience of this mouse.
It has recieved very good reviews, however.

None of the Razer mice seem to be very comfortable.
The G9 feels very uncomfortable to my hand.
The G5 has a decent shape, but just decent and not more.

Anyone have any more suggestions ?
Anyone with experience of the Gigabyte GM-M8000 ?

Get the akari lazer, i dont use it myself although i have it, its perfect on my hand even though i dont use full hand/palm control. The mwheel works perfect and when you play scout the mouse1 button is the best ive used for rapid fire for the pistol.

Heh, you already had it! My advice would be to replace it with another Ikari Optical, or an Ikari Laser. Have you tried getting it replaced? SteelSeries should be pretty good with warranties etc.

just dont get the roccat kone for heavens sake, i have had a few mouses like the g5,g9,deathadder,roccat kone and finally the mx518 and imo the mx518 is the best, simple accurate and feels nice ^_^

If you liked your mouse, then why would you buy another make/model?
Just buy the same model again.

yeah changing hardware for the sake of it is a bad idea. your mouse choice is mostly about feel and preference but depending on your sensitivity there are certain criteria that will limit your options.

Mx518! Mine has lasted 2 years, great weight and is very accurate. It’s just too bad I can’t use that accuracy to my advantage :3

Rele

MX518 is the way to go if you want a mouse with good accuracy and durability (and its not even that expensive).

Thanks for all responses !

Yes, the Ikari laser seems to be a very good option.
I’m just a bit concerned about the the quality of the Ikari mice. Also Steelseries writes that the laser mouse is more suitable for RTS type of games.
But on the other hand, it has recieved very good reviews and noone seems to have had any problems with FPS-games.

I want to take the opportunity to buy something more advanced than my old mouse.
The higher precision of the laser mice and the possibility to adjust the DPI is something that seems to be good.

I really like the shape of the Ikari mice, so perhaps I take the laser version of the same mouse.

I always thought optical<laser.

I always thought optical<laser.

That depends.
A 3G infrared sensor is at least as good as a laser.

MX518, would never go back to using anything else :>
