Poundworld have recently stepped up their security matters in order to fully represent the ethos of the store. In the Cardiff store, Deox decided to attempt theft of a box of Caprisun cartons, but was swiftly detained by a ruthless security official.

Both of us strongly advise you NOT to steal from Poundworld, lest you feel the wrath of the ever vigilant official known as “John”.

They had one in the shop I work at a while back. unfortunately, we’re right next to a pub, so a drunk came in and bit its nose off for ‘eyeing up his girlfriend’

They have them in quite a few places. Apparently the sight of a figure associated with authority will have an impact on people regardless of whether it’s a cardboard cut out or an actual person. It showed in trials that there was a reduction in incidents of shop lifting and theft after these were installed.

I seen this exact same plodder in Northampton as well.

I heard of Villagers putting up cutouts of Plodders on the main A roads going through so when you spot them you slow down thinking they are a real plodder.
