If you do a degree make sure you actually want to do it and it has job prospects at the end of it. I’ve seen so many friends do degrees because they thought it was what they had to do next in life and end up at starbucks. Basically in the UK you have 3+1 years of loans from the government and doing a second degree without those loans is fucking hard. So if you aren’t feeling a degree quit during the first year and ignore anything your parents say about sticking with it. Tbh for most people I would almost recommend taking a year off just to work out if something is what you really want to do.

Getting a bar job or something for the summer isn’t the worst idea tbh. Current government will probably shit on the maintenance grant in the next year or two.
