Blue & Black or Gold & White?

seriously tho it was blue and black first then few hours later it became gold and white, and now i see it blue and black again.
Please not any more of this oh god why ;___;

TL;DR: Depending on what your brain takes as the reference (the shadowy inside or the bright outside) it will appear in one of these colour combinations. The actual colours in this photo are gold/brown and blue. The actual dress is black and blue in neutral lighting.

Surveying twitter there’s good anecdotal evidence for autistics seeing it as neither blue and black or gold and white but brown and light blue, i.e. the actual visible colours.

Yeah, and then I checked others. It was a fair guess, there’s a known auditory effect that’s sort of similar.
