Are there any sponsors who are still alive?

I’m assuming you are talking about orgs because it is very rare that teams get sponsored directly. Yes, there are tons of orgs, you just need to find one and send off an e-mail if you want your team to be a part of it.
tons of orgs, none of which will support tf2 apart from maybe a gameserver :p

what do you mean waste they finished top8???
There are orgs out there that would sponsor TF2 teams to SummerLans. There is no incentive doing it throughout the year tho, obviously.
I think more orgs are willing to sponsor teams than you think, especially if all you want is just a sponsored server. It’s just a matter of asking them, and providing a decent pitch. If all you need is a server, then just approach some random orgs that you find sponsoring a wider range of games, and isn’t just taking in top teams (like, if you see an org that only has top LoL/DOTA/SC2/CSGO teams, you shouldn’t bother asking them)
Lately it’s been like most people just “assume” no org wants to take in TF2 teams, and as a result nobody approaches orgs any more.

Because any org with a brain can see that TF2 has little exposure, little growth left and no possible return.
If an orgs TF2 team wins div1 or whatever, it isn’t going to help them pull in a sponsor for themselves, or make them look better to prospective CSGO or Dota2 teams.
All in all, if you want a sponsor, the best thing you can do is approach a small server company directly for a Game server, and request one that has an advert MOTD and put your team name as “Sponsored by-” or “Powered by” on etf2l. Then at least they are advertising their product directly to the target market then.
If anyone wants a list of potential server hosts then drop me a steam message.
Sponsoring a TF2 team cost only a serv and a mumble, not a big risk for a structure.
lol sponsors just don’t care about a dead comp game like tf2
There’s literally not much an org can offer, you need a big org to support you with money for LANs but if you want one for a server you can just got to serveme.tf and get a mumble channel in Fakkelbrigade.
Not only that but quite a few orgs now support games that don’t need server hosting like csgo, dota2, lol, COD.
Pretty sure TF2 is one of the last comp games that actually require dedicated servers.

Pretty sure Valve provide those servers themselves, ie they don’t require some third party to have it set up.

Tournaments use their own servers. However for scrims teams need their own. Valve only supplies matchmaking servers. There’s no dota style lobby system where you can get a server to scrim on.
