This is terrible.
It’s an interesting look into the future to see all these web based content creation / creativity applications, but currently all these apps are all, aside from being nice proof-of-concepts, a giant ass joke.
They’re slow, cumbersome, limited in options, slow, and did I mention SLOOOOOOOOOOOW? There’s no such thing as an effective workflow in these web based resource mongering apps.
There’s tons of free/open DAW applications out there, not to mention many semi-pro applications with free trials and/or stripped down editions at affordable prices.
Examples of completely free apps:
– LMMS
– Jeskola Buzz
– ACID Express
– Mulab
– Frinika
– Traverso
Because obviously we all don’t pirate!

Yeah because you guys obviously paid for those apps :D
You can get anything done with any of the more (semi)-pro DAW apps, but I would never recommend Reason to anyone, because of its closed nature and archaïc and skeuomorphic GUI design. It’s only good for people who have been used to working with mostly hardware and switching to a software-based approach later on in their music making ‘career’. I repeat though: You can get anything done with any DAW, it’s just a matter of preference. Just doesn’t seem logical to me to recommend Reason to the majority of people that are starting out, and never touched a piece of studio equipment in their life.
Of all DAWs currently out there I’d recommend Ableton Live because of its accessibility, widespread support, and great flexibility. There’s no other DAW that can be bent towards one’s workflow like Ableton. Other DAWs force a very specific workflow onto the user. Oh and I don’t even use Ableton myself, so it’s not like “i use X so X is best”.

u better prove the contrary
Usually web-based MUSIC MAKING APPS that rely on putting a sample after sample like this one are aids and get boring really fast since amount of stuff you can do is really limited, getting any DAW is going to be much more fun with all the possible plugins you can get. Cheapest and smallest analog synthesizers that are basically like toys from Thomann for example are not that expensive either, a Korg Monotron or Korg Monotribe that are around 40-150 euros can guarantee you lots of fun with all the knobs that you can turn and see what they do and how and why they affect the sound the way they do.

These Monotribe live jams really make me want to get one ;w;
duh,
download ableton live from any warez site, get an invite for pluginaudio or any other sample/vst pirate site, read shit from reddit music production subreddit.
if you want to start to “make your own music” dont use crap online daws, placing premade loops with some crappy limitations doesn’t look any good.
In the spirit of keeping things legit, Reaper’s evaluation version is completely unlimited:
