I am planning on replacing my graphics card and i was just wondering if there will be any bottlenecking if i just replace my graphics card. Currently my setup is as follows:
750 gb drive (Not sure of brand or speeds)
AMD phenom II x4 945
ATI Radeon hd 4830
6 gb of RAM
The card i am looking to replace my old one with is the Gigabyte GeForce GTX 660 2gb
I’ve heard good things about this card on its own but im just curious if anyone knows how it will run with my current setup.
Thanks

In tf2 it will perform exactly the same as the current 4830 one if you use chris dx8 or dx9frames config. Might improve fps if you use good quality config but its not like it will be playable anyway with that cpu.
You’ll get a performance increase in games that are gpu bottlenecked, in tf2 you’re shit out of luck.
It’s better to have a significantly better cpu than graphics card for tf2.
Exactly what other people said, you’re probably better getting a 20-25€ cooler and oc’ing that Phenom (which with a bit of reading you’ll probably be able to do). Even if you do acquire a new gfx, oc’ing the cpu will help the bottleneck the cpu will cause on the new gfx.
