What is the cap on steam friends?

I can’t seem to find this anywhere on google. It use to be 250 and then 300 since i connected it to facebook but now I have 304 so am a bit confused? :)
Leveling up on Steam increases your cap by 5 each.

Eugh, off to do some dumb tasks to increase my friends list cap. Thanks :)
click on your profile, scroll down to your friends, click on them and it will show your cap:
Friends: 298 / 340 for me.
