Mechanical Keyboard choosing, help needed

I was thinking for a while about getting a mechanical keyboard, but no real idea which one to get, since there’s no way to try each one of them and decide properly. Please help!
Here’s what I’m looking for:
– Brown switches or something similar – no additional clicky sound, but still with the feeling of the click
– With numpad – I’m used to binding various commands to its keys, so maybe no numpad and a bunch of macro keys will do as well? Can you bind TF2 console commands to them?
– It has to be mostly black :D
– I don’t care much about backlights
Heard good reviews about ducky, maybe Ducky G2PRO Brown Switch for you? They are abit expensive, check cooler master storm keyboards if you want cheaper.
I’ve tried red and brown switches, both are easy to press down but with brown you feel the click halfway, I like both.
Just don’t choose blues, they are annoying my family sooooooo much.

I don’t really know how valid that guide is now but maybe it’ll help you. Duckys are great though.
I have the Ducky Shine II Tenkeyless w/ Brown keys and I love it, couldn’t have asked for a better keyboard IMO. (you can get it with a numpad as well iirc..)
Built like a tank, not too loud but still get that awesome mechanical sound and doesn’t take up too much room :D

Yes there are versions of ducky shine 2 with numpad i have one and i definitely recommend it if you can afford them ofc.
Feel free to check this wiki for more info: http://deskthority.net/wiki/Main_Page
Have you actually tried various switches? Ideally before buying I’d recommend you try a couple of keyboards with different switches if possible.
If you want a half decent board with browns you could get the CMStorm Trigger. May no longer be made by Costar which is a pity, so expect similar quality as a QPAD board (another option)
Filco boards are lovely, albeit slightly more pricey than other options.
A Ducky board is a good shout, especially since they’re one of the more available brands in the UK thanks to places like CCL and KustomPCs.
If you want more information etc then check out geekhack and deskthority, the two main (english speaking) forums that I know of.
If you want to ask anything in particular about different switches etc then feel free to ask, I’ve used keyboards with all of the common ones really (blues, blacks, reds, browns) as well as various others :)

I’d check out this before dropping the money on one. I’ve tried pretty much every key switch, and to be honest I don’t think i’ve come across many people who’ve genuinely preferred browns after checking all of them out. It’s not so much that browns are quiet, it’s just that blues are loud. Browns are actually louder than reds and blacks.
Check out this subreddit. Pretty much the best source of info and help for mechanical keyboards. Their wiki is probably about the single most helpful resource on the internet.

Don’t think they are :(
+1 to the Qpads. Good boards and a lot cheaper than most of your other options.

Qpad MK50/80 or 85, the 80 has blue backlights and a full key rollover via ps/2 it also as a ps2 to usb converter in case you don’t have any ps/2 plug on your MB, but you’ll lose the full key rollover by pluggin it by usb, and on startups you’ll need to turn the backlights on manually, and on qpad website they let you choose the key switch you prefer
the MK85 has red blacklights it has full key rollover via usb, so you won’t need a ps/2 to use the full key rollover, and on startups the backlights turn on automatically
the MK50 is an MK80 without backlights
i got the mk80 with brown switchs since november, and it works perfeclty

I recommend the ducky shine II aswell, browns and has tenkeys. One minor gripe is that the orange WASD keycaps that come bundled start losing their paint pretty fast. Not that it makes a huge difference, just that my orange D looks more like an O by now. Haven’t noticed any wear on the black keycaps though. Does have LED’s though, but you can adjust them quite a bit.
Then again I’m only comparing it to the steelseries p.o.s which I had to play with at wasm. I couldn’t hold W down properly on that, it had blacks.

Steelseries 7G. Considering the fact that ur from Russia and must be poor, steelseries 6Gv2 is also good. They are both the same, if to be clear :D
Just wanted to say thanks to everyone contributing, I’ll be observing the replies for next couple days and then see which one of the suggestions I like better! :)
Have heard great things about the ducky shine as well and if you can get your hands on the older version its a bit cheaper (afaik there aren’t many differences between the two other than fancier backlighting).
And if you want it all black you obviously haven’t seen this beauty: http://goo.gl/Y02KY
Oh yeah!

But no, all black is nice.
