I had this random idea a couple days ago to make a simple card game out TF2, specifically 6v6 and came up with some rudimentary mechanics to translate the comp mechanics into a turn based card game.
TCGs (specifically Magic: The Gathering) are what got me into illustration in the first place and I’ve made quite a few simple card games when I was younger (simple systems coupled with photographs or even paint graphics) and now I’d like to test the waters again and try to make a fun and simple card game as a side (and illustration) project.
Why am I talking about this?
I’d like to know if anyone is interested in working on this project with me.
Not to sound bossy but if you’re interested, you need to have a good understanding of 6s (preferably more than me, cuz I’m a scrub) as well as TCG experience, preferably even comp experience. Terms like card advantage, ressources and EoT should not be entirely unknown to you.

I’ve played a small bit of Magic the gathering, and loads of Elements the game, and a TF2 TCG game sounds interesting. Depending on the mechanics ofcourse. Would be awesome if this would turn out to become one of those HTM5 games and stuff that are coming out. I would play the shit out of it!
EDIT: tldr; I wouldnt mind sharing my knowledge.

I’m gonna do a writeup and sketches to outline the first couple ideas and post them so it’s more comprehensible what I’m on about
I haven’t played Magic the gathering style of card games, but if it’s anything like I imagine it would be, making a TF2 version would be very time consuming.
– Enemy uses spy card to get the medic, chance of success 25%
– We use the scouting card, trying to look for every player and see their classes
– Can’t find the 6th player. We use the spychecking card.
– The chance of success drops to 5% for the spy.
Anything like that?

I wasn’t thinking of a system like that. Seems incredibly chance based. Dis shud b about skeel, yis?
We have gathered a few ideas to make it strategic and dynamic. Gotta put our heads together tomorrow and conjur more up
edit: also, playing cards like that would mean very specific cards apply to very specific situations. And that’s no fun, trust me
