Another book I would sugest is Down and out in Paris and London

1 good thing

– Great use of emotions and feelings to get the reader in the head of the writer

– One part is set in smelly Paris :>

Read this recently, truly a great insight into the times, with many applicable lessons still.

Orwell is considered the greatest journalist of all time and this for me is the highlight, the characters, which I presume to be accurate, are astounding. You get an insight into the culture, it is so driven by human interaction, although I doubt everyone spoke as eloquently as Orwell makes out. Even the most disturbing of characters, like a man who called (almost) killing a French prostitute the greatest form of love, spoke in poetic terms, to the point where you are almost agreeing with him,

Orwell was a socialist, so from that perspective it is interesting as well, although times have changed and things have improved, inequality has risen. I really recommend this.

Of Mice and Men

Steinbeck is always great, and this is and will probably always be the best read of my life.
