Positional audio support for some Source Engine games is now available in Mumble.
Games supported:
* Team Fortress 2
* Left 4 Dead
* Garry’s Mod
* Age of Chivalry
* Half-Life 2 Deathmatch
* Counter-Strike: Source
Found it useful in L4D, but minimum volume etc. should be configured to something like 60% that it won’t be whispering when other player is eight meters away.
But in TF2.. I have a feeling that it won’t be needed, but have to find out that is it useful or not. For ppl that are always lost, maybe.
Could be very useful for people who go the wrong way from the middle spawn in well….you know who you are -.-
ehm no i dont know red, who do you mean? :P
“Positional audio
The games below are the ones we’ve added positional sound support for, so that the voice of your teammates come from their direction in game.”

Bout time :p
We’ve already tested it days b4. Its a great at first but for me it turned to be useless, coz it turns the volume as low as the speaking mate is. In actions it means that I just cant hear my mates clearly, thats why it makes some mass.
* Team Fortress 2 (broken in newest snapshot 2009-03-01 but fixed in Git repository so it’s going to available in next snapshot..)
so when will that be?
hehe thought about some match on well but then i remebered you didnt play … even though i went back cuz there were scouts spawncamping :F
could go through the hassle of compiling it, but meh… only to see that the plugins dont work yet?
If mumble outputs a volume level/balance relative to where your team-mate is in TF2 then isn’t it having to hook (hack) the game to find out where he is?
I mean, as interesting as this sounds what’s to stop the code being used to give a graphical cue (wallhack?) instead of an aural one? Okay- you don’t necessarily want to see your team-mates through walls but hopefully you see where I’m going with this?
Disclaimer- I know nothing about tech stuff I could be talking poopy.
WH for your teammates. Sounds interesting, ye. I already have that, it’s called (+)-bubbles… :D
If it triggered VAC2, then quite a lot of people would be fucked, so i guess they worked with Valve there.
Snapshot with (E: not) fixed tf2 plugin is released
