Bit of a long shot posting a video related question on a TF2 forum but I know some people know a bit about video. (have posted this on a photography/video forum but no response/dead forum :/)
Basically I shot this video: https://vimeo.com/47619028 but it looks blotchy as fuck. Any ideas? I know for sure its nothing to do with how I exported it as it looks shit on playback on my camera despite it looking fine when I was filming it. I run Magic Lantern firmware, I have a feeling its a setting in this?
Camera settings were 1080p, 24fps, 1/48, f2.8-9, ISO 160/320,640
Any ideas?
bitrate too low
filming 1080p 24fps would mean ur recording at least 40-50mbps raw, this looks like 2mbps encode :D

This looks like a bitrate problem indeed, make sure you get an SD card that can handle more mb per second.
Ye, looks like you’ve just got a cheap SD card.
Check out this section on wikipedia about SDHC speeds. The cheap cards are the lowest one which is fine for your average camera and just taking photos, but if you want to take photographs quickly and do video it matters.
I have a 30mb/s class 10 SD card so that won’t be the problem, will have to look into my Magic Lantern settings.
