Loved to play Crash Bandicoot on this machine, still do sometimes!
Same here – when I saw the video I almost expected that Nsanity beach music to come on.

Aww yeaahh
I remember being introduced to Alex the Kid on the Master System, I didn’t think it could get much better. Then the MegaDrive hit and playing absolute pearls like http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0eJK8Lflkvc was even better.
good memories!

WTF PS2 is one of the sickest platforms ever… The list of legendary games is endless, accompanied by an incredible mass of decent to very good games.
From my perspective the PS2 had a few gold standard titles, (nothing to compare with Ocarina of time, Pilotwings, Goldeneye, Banjo-kazzoie, Diddy Kong racing, Metroid (w/e that one was), Mario64 and many, many others), but the overwhelming majority of PS2 games were utter, complete, bubonic, rabid turd-burgers. Wandering around your local GAME store had shelf after shelf of PS2 games and a small N64 section, but I know I could find many more decent games in the selection of 40 N64 games than in the 300+ PS2 games.
Developers churned out thousands of games a week it seems and only 0.1% of them were any good. The N64 had a lot less games brought out for it but at least when I bought one I had a reasonable chance of getting a decent bit of fun for my 40 quid and not some irritatingly bad piece of random shite.
Seriously, top quality PS2 titles I think I can count on the fingers of one hand, and more or less all of them came out towards the end of the PS2 lifespan.
Basically, I always felt that PS2 was an over-hyped console with a lot of muscle behind it but a massive lack of serious developers making decent software. Deciding to advertise on TV and aim at the 20 something casual gamer was the PS2’s genius, also getting in on the champions league sponsorship helped a lot too, bringing gaming away from the solo geek fest and into the consciousness of the football loving cool kids.
Also, Wavebird!…best…controller…ever…no contest.

BEST FUCKING GAME EVER.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IDIPozMiiFc aaahhh… good times..
Shadow of the Colossus and Ico where made by the same company/developers and a series that is continuing soon, or so I hear.
Yes, they were good games, but Shadow of the Colossus was very late in the PS2’s lifetime.
No, they weren’t as good as Ocarina of time…but then, not much is really.
Also: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PiYuq6Ac3a0 Commodore Amiga’s Cannon Fodder Intro, AWESOME!
