Anyone have any experience with these?

Basically I’ve got the capture card in my computer, I’m using HDMI out from my graphics card going into the colossus. Windows picks up the capture card as an additional display, so I simply clone my main display and capture the ‘second display’.

The problem is, my monitor is 1680 x 1050 and 120hz. The capture card only really likes 1080P or 720P. I think it will also go to 1680 x 1050 so that isn’t so much the problem. What is a problem is that when the monitors are cloned, Windows sets them to the lowest compatible refresh rate (apparently 30hz interlaced).

Is there a way to get a second display to run at a different refresh rate to the primary one when it’s in cloned mode? I can understand a monitor not wanting to be in a different resolution, it’s just surely the HZ on the monitor could be difference and still display the same image?

Thanks guys!

I’ve actually come up with an idea.

What I want to do, is by using software, capture what is on the first screen, and preview that capture on the second screen. If I can do that, then I can just use the hardware to capture the second screen (which is previewing the first) and I wouldn’t need to use a cloned monitor setup, just an extended desktop (where things can be different settings).

Any ideas?

u can do that with xpslit, but just if you buy the premium version.

It doesn’t appear to be able to do it. It shows a preview, but you can’t preview full screen.

I don’t want to stream, or do any software recording / encoding, all I need to do, is show a preview (full screen) of what is on my primary monitor, and have that preview displayed on the secondary monitor (which is actually the capture card).

Xplit still has the title bar saying ‘Xsplit’ which is no good because my capture card would pick up that title bar when it records.

I need a full screen, real time (or very very close to it) software clone of my monitor that I can drag over to a second display (and then make it full screen).
