i wouldnt go for an ocz if i were you. had to send in mine after about 6 months due to it just dying. also have heard similar complaints from other people.

its mainly because of the sandforce controller ocz uses, it’s pretty bad, has tons of compatibility issues aswell, that firmware updates may or may not fix.

I personally recommend a crucial m4 for anyone whos looking to buy an SSD.

m4 here, works great. But to be fair: any SSD will provide a massive speedboost. Try and get a 120-128gb ish one, so you can get some games on there also.

That is what Im thinking. 120 gb ssd’s has reasonable prices, and 240 gb is too expensive.

btw, does anyone know if I can install steam on two drives? I dont want all my steamgames on the ssd, only tf2.

no you cant. unfortunately.
maybe try this one

the problem with tf2 is that it uses gcfs from different places so i never got it to work properly

“different places” ? it uses only
multiplayer ob binaries.gcf
source 2007 shared materials.gcf
source 2007 shared models.gcf
source 2007 shared sounds.gcf
source materials.gcf
source models.gcf
source sounds.gcf
team fortress 2 client content.gcf
team fortress 2 content.gcf
team fortress 2 materials.gcf
and they all are in steamapps folder, add your steam username/team fortress 2/ folder and thats that
