Hello, Im gonna upgrade to an ssd instead of my wd green HDD. Im thinking of buying the Kingston HyperX, does anyone have it? And if so, would you recommend it?

Or do you have other alternatives that are just as good?

Kingston have an ssd they called HyperX? That’s pretty confusing as they have a ram line called HyperX o.O

Yeah, they are from the same series. Also I think they work very well together.

If u care about loading times then go for ssd, but the one which has write and read speeds good for all data ( not only compressed like in some OCZ’s ). Many people recommend Crucial M4 but if I were you I woulnd’t spend money on it. At least not now.

I sell snssds

I stick an snsd sticker on a ssd and charge you 50 pounds more.

I has this one http://www.scan.co.uk/products/120gb-corsair-force-sries-3-25-ssd-sata-iii-6gb-s-sandforce-read-550mb-s-write-510mb-s-85000-iops-pc and I likes.

I care about loadingtimes, for some reason it takes me around 10 minutes from when I push the powerbutton, until I actually can do anything in windows.

The HyperX ssd has 555 mbps read and 510 mbps write.

I would recommend reinstalling windows if its taking you that long, you are going to have to if you get an ssd anyway, so try that and see if it helps.
It shouldnt take longer than 5 minutes on a clean install unless the drive is dying and its far more likely your windows is just messed up..

Iv got an ssd, they are great and windows boots in <2 mins, but only because I had money to spare. They are still expensive atm and I would wait for them to get far cheaper before investing.

yes, my windows is most likely messed up. It would probably work to reinstall it, but Im going to upgrade anyway. It started getting slow after I installed a antivirus program for windows vista. Apparently it was not compatible at all with windows 7. The pc got faster when I uninstalled it, but its still not as fast as it should be.

TwistedPlay.

I’ve got an OCZ agility, very impressed by the speed of it (but I don’t have another SSD to compare it to in speeds) one thing to note is that for my drive at least I had to do a firmware update to stop bluescreening, I couldn’t run the firmware update on the drive if it was running windows so booting off another drive to install it worked for me.
Believe someone linked a way round this but can’t find it

I’ve got an OCZ Vertex 3 60 GB. I had to do an Firmware update as well, but since then it works like a charm, Win7 is up and loading completely in less than a minute.

Not enough for my 70 GB Steam folder, unfortunately, but the speed of the OS and other programs is great.
