Has anyone actually used origin yet? Why is it so bad? All they are trying to do is compete with Steam which is fair enough, any buisness is welcome to try and take market share.
yea its basically competition to steam. but that is bad because having one client is bad enough. i just don’t want to have multiple download and friends managers on my pc.
Its a bad idea, I don’t believe in you and I certainly don’t believe in the product, and for that reason I am out!
I agree with Sketch, it’s pretty much using BF3 to force people into using Origin, it might run fine, but everyone is so used to Steam that people prefer it, it’s what MSN Messenger was to people 5 years ago, everyone used it and it’s their program on their PC’s.
If you can run steam + origin then I won’t have any problems, it would just be like SC2 to me.
steam is at the stage now where it isn’t something that just cs players use. its what every gamer has installed. to go up against that is
1. stupid
2. arrogant
3. fucking stupid
4. …..
For a start origin is basically doing what valve did like 8-9 years ago with steam? releasing massive epic game and forcing the use of a download manager/launcher. What makes me mad is that EA are not even bringing anything new to the table.
To launch a platform like origin they need something massive, something much better than steam. Otherwise people will just use it for battlefield for 5 years or so then stop using it. They want to launch a competitor but they really need to offer more than steam does at present. basically EA have put all their eggs into one basket “BF3” and all the success of their new platform revolves around it. i want to see it fail massively for the sheer dickhead moves they pulled by making bf3 exclusive to origin. /rant
you can download the bf3 beta now btw XD
got my beta key, origin is dogshite, downloading beta now.
(ps: i have not and will not be buying the game due to it being EXACTLY the same as BC2 from my experience in the alpha :)))
Last edited by Enef,
not touching origin at all, can not trust EAs in terms of DRM etc. fuck that.

not a fear just dont agree with.
Origin is alright. It’s like steam with less features. Pretty much :D
The beta is fun, but it’s still the same shitty linear rush map from the alpha. I’m looking forward to the full game a lot, but man they could not have picked a worse map to show off the game. Vehicles and large sprawling maps are pretty much a trademark of the BF series and this has none of it. I want my damn tank! Hopefully they’ll unlock the Caspian Border map later on.

There’s simply no way I can run steam, origin and bf3 at the same time.
Not to poop on your parade of pooping on the bf3 parade, but who cares what its run on?..
What im probably going to do is add it to steam as a nonsteam game and still get the overlay. Origin and steam barely take any system power up anyway so there is not really much of a drawback..
