A problem in e-sports

For those who don’t follow Cadred, or just follow it for TF2 news, I feel this is an important article to bring up just for the sake of e-sports.
I am almost glad TF2 ain’t big enough to encounter these sorts of problems (although there was that Blight thing in NA if I remember correctly.)
Like the organisation’s manager pointed out in that article, this is the way it works in established sports too. This type of thing happening is actually a sign of esports growing up. People not directly being able to cope with that is unavoidable, that’s what happens in a growing scene encountering new problems. What we just need is very clear contracts, and players realising their self-responsibility of verifying their own contract carefully before signing it.
Same thing happened in TF2 @ i43 btw, at a tiny scale ;)
WOW ROFL, fine print details only realised and uncovered post event. Terribly unfair and unethical way of dealing with things, I feel sorry for Akamatt and Victorz, the handling of their situation has been less than slick.

So we are going to take the worst parts to real sports to makes our “legitimate”. I am happier having things better than real sports tbh.

Its always going to happen in a new field of buisness, espcially the people in these “pro” teams are mainly kids and probably don’t know what they are signing up for. If they were a decent company they should explicitly say who gets what % of the price fund. Did they sign contracts or not with this in?
Also their manager getting a cut of the winnings (more than 2 of their players) is very very strange….surely you salary the manager and don’t take a cut from the prize fund unless everyone has agreed to that?

It’s not the “worst” part. If you’re in this for the money, aka the “business”, then you should approach things with a business attitude too. The way the market works is no different in an e-sports environment. These types of misunderstandings are bound to happen if there is no proper prior agreement established beforehand.

To be fair though Colin, Quad was one of their best players, i don’t understand how they can say he can be replaced by 20-30 of any of the top french players?
Rest of the redline lineup don’t give a shit about the things done to their teammates while they get so much more prize money?

This sums up my feelings on this. If agreed and told beforehand, ok. Still shitty dealing imo but they would’ve known beforehand. Not telling them beforehand is completely unethical and highly unfair.
