How do people have like 40 hats without buying them…
Were you just extremely lucky with drops shintaz?

During the first days of the mannconomy update, people were seriously confused and there were no guidelines for hat trades whatsoever. I remember my first 2 trades were Stainless Pot for Tyrants, and then Tyrants for Bill’s Hat and Max Head.
If i didn’t give my hats away I would probably have around 50 (never idled + never purchased one).
I might have stolen a few :P

Shintaz sold Bunny Ears for $90 – Its strange that these people pay more for E-Fashion than real clothes.
It’s also strange how people who weren’t willing to buy the game that the hat came with (Sam and Max season 3, which was like £25?) but are now willing to fork out a shit load of money just for the hat.
so if ive got a new scout hat (flipped trilby) with sunbeams, could I sell it for like, 400-500 dollars?

Sure, I get that it’s easy money, but there’s got to be a demand for it
If people are genuinely just buying hats to sell on, eventually some poor sap is going to end up having bought a load, while everyone else has made their cash and won’t care anymore. Around the time that TF2 dies (will happen eventually, someone’s going to get seriously pissed off with valve, and go make a TF mod for warsow or something)
If people are buying them because they genuinely like the look of them and are buying them for their own use…

If you feel like you missed something, read up on it. Why bother reply with “+1” to express yourself on a topic probably long forgotten?
Be carefull, I’ve seen people get a forum ban from bumping dead threads intentionally
